I thought this photo was on my blog in an earlier post, but I was wrong. I want to post this to show an example of how to properly use patterns when selecting attire for a photo shoot. Stripes and polka dots are always popular for toddlers, but they can be distracting in photos. It’s best to dress your tot in a solid top and use a pattern for the bottoms. This photo is so awesome that it is on my portrait business card (I have a separate one for weddings).

Let me start out by saying,

“Go Gators!”

Now that I’ve got that out of my system.

Chris is Jennifer’s brother. He and Misti caught the boquet and garter at Jennifer’s wedding last May. He though it only fair that he proposed. Just kidding. They were basically engaged at that time anyway. He made it official during their tour of Bryant Denny Stadium this past summer. We went back to do their engagement shoot. Only this time, it was much colder.

Misti & Chris’s wedding will be in May at the beautiful Battle Friedman Home. The ceremony will be outside (Yay!). Pray for awesome weather!

A few months ago I came across some still life shots I did at the University of Alabama Arboretum while looking through my fine art photography. “Why haven’t I been doing sessions there?” I asked myself. It is clear across town and tucked away behind a rundown golf course… not a place I drive by frequently. When I asked Britney about her personality and she said she was somewhat outdoorsy I finally thought about the Arboretum. While looking through the pictures from Friday I fell in love with the place all over again. It’s such a great place for any type of photo session. Can’t wait to find a toddler or family to photograph there.

Her boyfriend came along for a few shots. His name is Timothy. How perfect is this?
